Motors Corner is pleased to present this 1959 Jaguar XK150 Drophead Coupé.
As the final evolution of the XK line—which established Jaguar's sporting reputation in the 1950s—the XK150 retained the twin-cam six-cylinder engine of its predecessors but gained a wider body, a one-piece windshield, and four-wheel disc brakes (a first for a production Jaguar). The Drophead Coupé version, featuring a lined soft-top, wind-up windows, and two rear seats, is the most versatile of the three body styles.
This particular car, first registered on January 1, 1959, underwent a complete restoration several years ago. It is presented today in a highly elegant color combination: white bodywork, navy blue leather upholstery, and a matching soft-top, all sitting on chrome wire wheels.
Mechanicals:
Powered by the 3.4-liter XK inline-six engine fed by twin SU carburetors, this XK150 starts easily and runs beautifully. The odometer shows 81,000 miles.
Interior:
The cabin is in excellent condition. The navy blue leather on the vertically pleated seats is supple and free of tears, displaying a light, healthy patina. The carpeting, door panels, and dashboard are in good condition, featuring the large four-spoke steering wheel and full set of Smiths instruments. The rear seating area and the blue-carpeted trunk are clean. The navy blue fabric soft-top, complete with rear window, is in good condition.
